Conway Chamber Organization Chart

Who We Are

Basically, the Chamber of Commerce is People. People working together to make the Conway area a better place in which to live, make a living, and enjoy an excellent quality of life.

The Chamber members represent business and professional men and women who collectively engage in promoting the welfare of our city and area.

The Chamber is a democratic organization: operating according to a written set of by-laws and constitution.

The Chamber is a voluntary organization composed of members who contribute personal and financial support because they choose to do so.

How We Operate

The Chamber works together through some 20 volunteer committees to examine and discuss facts in order to study, analyze, and develop solutions to problems affecting the area. The Chamber serves as the "Front Door" for the community and constantly strives to improve business by helping build a better Conway area.

Committees

Education

Strongly supports the public and private schools and the three institutions of higher learning - Central Baptist College, Hendrix College, and the University of Central Arkansas.

Government Affairs

Studies local, regional and national issues and their possible affect on the business community; recommends course of action vital to those issues; communicates Chamber position to elected officials. Works with city and county governments to strengthen civic, business, and industrial development.

Industrial

Encourages the development of the industrial park and the expansion of existing industry; markets the area to industrial projects and invites them to the area. Provides statistical information concerning labor supply, housing, utilities, education, population trends, financial data, etc.

Leadership

Sponsor and support the Faulkner County Leadership Institute and Youth Leadership Institute.

Ambassadors

Responsible for conducting ribbon cuttings, grand openings and open houses.

Downtown Community

This committee's purpose is a comprehensive revitalization strategy that encourages economic development within the context of historic preservation. Projects are planned and implemented through the guidance of four sub-committees: design, promotion, economic restructuring, and organization.

Toad Suck Daze Committee

Plan, organize, and conduct the annual Toad Suck Daze Festival

Tourism

Continue to promote the Conway area in order to bring additional travel dollars to the area. Provide brochures, pamphlets, lodging, and dining information and general tourist information. Works with the Heart of Arkansas and State Department of Tourism to promote tourism in Central Arkansas
